Los Angeles Times | Decisions
During my junior year in college, I came across an article about Scott Warren, who was facing 20 years in prison for providing humanitarian aid to illegal immigrants. I thought, how is this possible? How is this okay to put someone on trial for helping another human being not perish? I started to look into humanitarian groups like Border Angels, and they opened my eyes to the issues that go unnoticed at our border. I knew I needed a team to help me craft a story so I enlisted EJ Lui to help write, Cam Tribe to art direct, and Quinn Frehner to provide strategic insights. We teamed up with production company The Fold and created a short film using the Los Angeles Times as the brand. Journalism not only informs society, it influences it. We wanted to challenge viewers to be an influence in the world for good - one decision at a time.
